Default Caught With Drug Paraphernalia in Texas

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Texas

Alright so I was recently ticketed with a class c misdemeanor in Texas for drug paraphernalia. I've only gotten one ticket in my life before this (a red light ticket) and I'm 19 and have no idea what this will do to me. I want to take care of it a quickly as possible without my parents knowing. Will anything come in the mail? If almost can I change the address to a P.O. box or something? Will it show up on my insurance? The cop told me not to fight it and just pay the fine and it "should" be fine. I am terrified though and want to erase any trace of it.

First off it's already on your record. Yes, you may get more information by mail. It's already on your record. In many (mostly metropolitan) areas you can expect to get helpful letters from attorneys offering you their services. Your best bet is to see if you can get deferred adjudication. If you complete that it will have the best effect on undoing as much damage as possible. Your auto insurance is not likely to be affected even with a conviction.

I was told today that if I pay the fine after 6 months or less it should go away...? Any truth to that?

You were told wrong. You must get a deferred adjudication, wait six months and then specifically apply.
