Exclamation How can my friend go about this?

Okay, my friend is going to be turning 16 years old soon. I know that in the State of Florida you can become Emancipated at the age of 16. I keep reading different things about how this can be done. I have read that he can do the paper work himself, and I have read that his parents would have to do the paper work. I know for a fact that his parents aren't willing to do what it takes for him to become emancipated because they wish to do everything in their power for him to be unhappy.

So basically, what I want to know is:

How can my friend get emancipated without his parents doing anything?

Is there a way this can be done?

If so, who would he need to speak with, or who would I need to speak with on his behalf?

If anyone knows anything that can help please let me know. This is extreamly important to my friend and I. Things are just going way to rough for him at home, I would explain what was going on, but in fear that some how someone might now him, or me even, I can't do so.

Thank you guys very much for any help you can give me for him. God Bless You All!

In Florida, the emancipation statute requires that emancipation be initiated by the minor's parents or guardian.

So there is no other way to get is started besides his parents starting it. Because I'm pretty sure they won't do that. They don't want to give up their punching bag, and their slave.

Next time they hit your friend, have him/her call the police. S/he can also call child protective services.
