My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: If I am emancipated in the state of colorado can I work full Time
First question: ARE you an emancipated minor and resident of Colorado?
Second question: Have you graduated high school or successfully passed the GED?
Did the court order granting emancipation confer any specific rights or restrictions on you?
Since CO has no statute articulating the rights and responsibilities of an emancipated minor, it appears a little fuzzy whether you can work full time or not. You might still be subject to the laws governing work hours and conditions for minors in CO in spite of being emancipated. You may have to check with specific potential employers to find out what they have to say. And emancipation certainly wouldn't suddenly allow you to work in establishments that require you to be age 18 or 21 if those are required due to alcohol, adult entertainment, or other activities that require a minimum age.
Given that there is no process by which a minor in Colorado can go into court and come out emancipated, I'm a little fuzzy on how this happened in the first place. Granted, the state will recognize a minor as emancipated if they are living on their own and managing all their own affairs, including financial, but if you're only just now getting around to asking if you can work full time, it seems odd to me that you would have qualified for this.
That is NOT legal emancipation.
No, you are not emancipated. What you are is being permitted by your parents to live away from home. (Charitably speaking. Uncharitably speaking, you've been thrown to the wolves and left to fend for yourself.)I have a notarized statement of emancipation from my parents
You are still bound by Colorado's minor labor laws.
How is the city of Denver going to grant you an exemption when these must be requested through the Department or Labor?
And, to emphasize what has been written, you are NOT legally emancipated. You have been conferred no rights by a court and have all the same rights and duties of any other minor.
Who are you living with? Since you cannot enter into a legal contract on your own, someone must be putting you up. And, if you have a child of your own, who will watch that child while you do online school and try to work full time?
