Possession of Drugs by a College Student

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Michigan

Hi everyone I had some Cannabis in a container at my acquaintance's on campus apartment at a college and the cops busted it. Two people said it was mine so they came to my dorm and I said it was mine. The police told me a judge would either throw my case out or I would receive a warrant in the mail. Assuming the judge doesn't throw my case out what penalties am I looking at money wise? They said it was a minor misdemeanor and I've never had any priors other than traffic violations in the past. Any advice would be most appreciated, thanks.
