My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia (gwinette county)
A friend of mine was on probation since jan. of 2013. it was non reporting probation.
in june he was kicked out of his home by a family member for being gay. while looking for another residence, said family member told the probation office that the guy in question had been kicked out and they didn't know where they lived.
at the end of june he moved in with me, and tried to get in touch with his probation office to tell them where he was living, but the only answer he kept receiving was "we will forward that information and if they need you they will call you, is your number still the same?" he told the number was still the same, and continued to look for work and continued to call the office, always with the same answer.
in july, (we just found out) a warrant had been issued for his arrest for probation violation. we also found out that the county had changed probation officers on him 3 different times, which is probably why no one ever got back to him.
he has since enrolled in school, been working, ect...DOES NOT GET INTO ANY TROUBLE!
on sept 11, 2013 he was arrested. and has been in jail since. there is a 90% chance he will get kicked out of school, he has lost his job, and is slowly given up on any hope...he has a lawyer, but its taking so long to figure anything out...
SUGGESTIONS????
