Question Teased About My Medical Condition

My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: NA

I would like some advice on what I think isn't right as to what is going on where I work. First off, I have a medical condition. My boss is informed of this. For quite some time my boss would tease me, make fun of me and mock me, although not necessarily directly related to my medical condition, but in a round about way. For example, my medical condition causes fatigue, so I would be made fun of or mocked cause I was tired. Because of all this teasing, etc., it has been causing a lot of stress on me which resulted in more health problems and caused me to miss work. Upon returning to work my boss suggested that I should cut back to part time due to my health.

In my place of work the ventilation is so that vehicle exhaust fumes would enter my enclosed cubicle through the heat/air cond. vents. Nothing has been done to remedy this vent problem. There is also a gas leak that my boss refuses to do anything about. My boss forced me to move to a different location where there is mold growing in cabinets and obviously is a problem in the walls too cause the walls are also wet and paint is bubbly. I was just told to clean up the mold.

I would like some ideas on what to do about these circumstances. I guess in the short of things, I'm being bullied/harassed and forced to work in unhealthy conditions.

Switching jobs seems like it would be an answer, but that's not so easy because of the Cobra expense.

I have a feeling all this will lead to being fired.

There is a reason we ask for your state. You may not think it matters, but it does.

Then you'll have to talk to an attorney.

Because every US state has different laws.

so, what do you want anybody to tell you? Based on your statements, I suggest calling OSHA or your states version of it it there is one.

    Thanks for the OSHA suggestion.

If I have been having symptoms from mold exposure, do I have any grounds to stand on for a lawsuit? After researching mold exposure symptoms, now I know why I don't feel good while at work, but am fine on the weekends.

I am planning to change jobs, and probably call OSHA upon leaving. Would I ever find out the results of the mold as to how toxic it might be from OSHA, or is that something they would only disclose to the employer?

if the mold is so bad and your symptoms are so severe that your doctor takes you out of work you would probably get workers compensation.

Until you obtain a medical license, you only suspect.
