Default When Can You Drive in Other States After Your License is Suspended

If a resident of Ohio get's their license suspended in California, do the DMV's of other states get notified? I still have my physical license, but i'm assuming that there is a nationwide database for people with suspended licenses of some sort? I don't plan on driving on a suspended license either way, just wondered how it worked.

what was suspended in California? It couldn't be an Ohio license because California has no power to control an Ohio issue. They may have suspended your driving privileges but again, that is controlling only in California. Now, any state that has law that allows them to act based upon such an action in another state can follow their laws. Most I have seen only deal with those licensed in their own state though. That would mean if Ohio has laws that allow them to act based on the actions of California, then they can do whatever Ohio law allows.

Yeah, my driving privileges were suspended in California is more correct. I also know that Ohio will follow suit. My question is if I were to drive (which I'm not) and got pulled over in kansas or colorado and showed them my physical Ohio drivers license card, would I get in trouble for driving on a suspended license.

If Ohio follows suit, then your driving privileges are suspended in ALL states since your privileges to drive in any state stem by the license you hold in Ohio. Once Ohio suspends your license, if you get pulled over in a place where they have access to and check your status in Ohio, it will be discovered. If that happens, you could be in a lot of trouble and have a lot of problems, including going to jail in many states.
