Caught With Marijuana in My Car

My question involves criminal law for the state of: michigan.

Hi all, I'm from Ohio and Monday night I was pulled over in Clinton county, MI for speeding. The officer said I was acting weird (which is my normal anxiety issues) and asked to search my car. I let him and he found a small amount of marijuana in my car. I had told him there wasn't any (I forgot about it), so in turn I was arrested and taken to the county jail over night.
I have court in two weeks for the possession charge, it is my first offense. I'm just not sure what to expect being that I'm out of state.
1. Do I NEED a lawyer? The officer said he wouldn't even have arrested me if I had told him it was there.
2. What kind of fines am I looking at for a first offense?
3. Will I be put on probation for such a small amount ( 2 grams tops), being that I'm out of state?
