Default Police Sergeant's Nude Photos Online

My question involves other professional malpractice in the state of: Illinois, although I live in Kentucky for the time being.

Good morning, everyone! I'm newly registered to the forum, but I have been a long time visitor. I have intentions of going into the field of law myself after I obtain my BA from Emory.

I have an odd, yet serious question about a certain situation. I am a 20 year old, gay man, and like most men my age, I often view pornography on my computer during my time alone. I generally use websites such as, Tumblr, which hosts thousands of independently organized pages dedicated to relatively specific genres of pornography. This might be too much information, but I tend to enjoy viewing pages surrounding men in uniform and straight men “tricked” by gay men. I know – I'm a hot, gay mess. It was on one of these combination pages (uniformed, straight men, to be exact) where I ran into something interesting.

I noticed a set of five photographs featuring a gentleman in a very authentic-looking police uniform. The first three present this man clothed, while the last two show him in the nude. The clothed pictures demonstrate this man casually taking “selfies” while dressed in his uniform. The first of the nude photographs display his entire body including, his face as well as his erect phallus. The second of the nude photographs solely reveal his erect phallus, but it is the same phallus appearing in the previous photograph. He's a cute guy, but I was curious as to if they were real. Upon further observing the photographs, I noticed this gentleman's name (the first letter of his first name followed by his full last name) is sewn into his shirt, like most police officers. There is also a shield patch sewn into the left shoulder area.

Long story short, using my Internet-savvy brain, I basically found this guy online. He works at an actual sheriff's office in northern Illinois and he's listed as an “executive sergeant.” I even found his email address and Facebook account, which is linked to the email address. It's the same, exact guy. Surely this guy didn't send in his nude pictures to be put on display on this website for gay men. I figure he sent them to some woman (or gay guy) and they were simply passed around until they were posted online. Can this man get in trouble for this? Should I contact him since I have his email address and tell him he needs to inquire about having the pictures removed? What do you think about me contacting the sheriff's department and informing them? Or should I just stay out of this? It's really none of my business, but I'm curious as to know what you all think about the situation. Thank you!

I would discretely contact him and advise him of the pictures displaying his backup gun.

You are correct that it is none of your business. You may be incorrect that they were not intentionally posted by him in such a manner you ended up seeing them.

It could cause him problems in his professional life though and based on that, them being posted may very well have not been intentional. If you contact his employer, it could do the exact opposite of what your implied concerns are though.

if you are truly concerned, a very simple mailing to him with links and maybe a statement of: don't know if you are aware of these but saw them, thought it might cause you some adverse consequences and thought it would be my good deed of the day to let you know.

I would not use any identifying information and use a means that would not allow you to be back tracked.

then never contact the guy again
