Default Should I Return and Pay for an Item Previous Employee

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Minnesota

I am truly sorry that I have to write this. I was sniffing the Purex bottles and playing with the mixtures of the bottle but when my mother asked for me to grab another bottle of Purex, I put the bottle of Purex with the smaller mixture back in the aisle and took another Purex bottle because it smelled better without thinking. I wish to pay for that bottle of Purex, but I've heard of stories of people being brought to charges because they wanted to pay for something they took. I paid for the bottles that I did grab but I had extra mixture of detergent in them, which I'm pretty sure constitutes theft but like...low theft. But the employees know who I am, they know who my mom is and they didn't stop me but my old supervisor got really mad at me and looking at me like I should say something because I think he saw but he didn't say anything. He's really strict but nice. Should I be worried? Should I go back and pay for that bottle and say that it was just a mistake? What if I get in trouble? Should I just avoid everything and hope no one does anything? This was at a CVS store btw. What should I do? I feel guilty but wasn't really thinking at the time.

If you are a minor, I think that you should discuss it with your parents and let them help you decide what to do.

I'd go pay for it. Find the exact bottle. How would you feel if someone purchased the bottle you messed with? That person is not getting the product they expected.

It depends on the store. I would just act like a normal customer, find the bottle you tampered with and buy it.
