My question involves collection proceedings in the State of: California
It's probably been a couple years by now but hears the story. An ex-friend of mine and his girlfriend got pulled over and the girlfriend ends up going to jail. He doesn't want her to sit there for a couple nights so I take him to a bail bondsman. He didn't have an i.d. at the time so I used mine meaning that I'm responsible for the debt. Dumb decision but I thought he was good for it. They paid a few hundred and just stopped paying and I got numerous notifications. I tried to talk to them but they ignore me and won't respond. I just received another notification adding on to the debt and letting me know my credit is being destroyed. Can I take them to court? What should I do?
