Default Enforcing Visitation of Children Who Live in Another State

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: Washington and Massachusetts

I've been trying to seek for help for years. I have two children and I'm a young father with very little knowledge to any of this. I reside in Washington state. I just need a help to seek a starting point.

I have two children. One born in Washington state and one born in Massachusetts. It's been 3 1/2 years since I've seen my son and have never met my daughter. I'm still new to this. I just don't know where to start. I want to get some sort of visitation right with my children. My child support is always paid on time. My son was born in Washington and my daughter was born in Massachusetts. I've tried talking to the courts in Washington but they had told me there's nothing i could do here as into visitation since they been residing in Massachusetts for over 6 months and the state as jurisdiction to whether I get rights or not. I just need some help/advise to what I can do to see my children.

They're right - since Mom and the children live in Mass., that would be where you need to file for visitation.

You should expect to be visiting in their community at least for a while, because you'll probably need a graduated introductory schedule.

Eventually though, you should be able to enjoy the "usual" visitation.

    Have a look here:

Would I have to file for visitation there in person? Mom as cut off all contact with me.

What would I look under? Sorry, all this is very confusing to me.

I really appreciate the reply. Thank you.

No, you can file by mail - but you'll likely have to attend court at some point. You can ask if they'll let you appear telephonically.

There's a form right there under "custody".
