Default Double Claim - File or Not to File

    Hello-

I was in a wreck about a month ago that was the other partys fault per the police report and ended with my car being totaled. Then yesterday we had a doozy - I backed into my wife's car!!! My question is should I report it or pay myself if each car has ~$1000 in damage and my dedcutible is $250? Can I call and see how much my rates will go up or once I call them is that considered a report of the claim?

    Thanks!

They probably won't answer that question in the abstract - and it will almost certainly be noted in your file, even if they don't treat it as an accident report. You may wish to try using an online auto insurance application, entering your information with and without the additional accident claims, and see what type of difference is quoted. Auto insurance rates can vary quite a bit between companies, it should give you some idea of the increase you might be looking at.
