Default Child support settled, circumstances changed already

    Hello,
AFter a year, the father of our baby and myself finally agreed on a parenting agreement, including child support based on both working part time and going to college. Both of us are 18 living with our parents. Within weeks he dropped out of college. Does this change what he should be contributing and I should look into getting it changed or just leave it alone? Thank you in advance for any advice on this.

The amount of child support is determined by child's needs not yours or his income. Because he now has more income does not mean your childs needs change. Example if you win lottery should he stop support? Answer no. If your childs needs are not being met then you can petition court for revision

This is new information to me. AFter a year of going through this I was told by both attorneys that child support is based on income. Also, that income could be calculated at 40 hrs weekly x min wage (regardless of what was worked) unless we were going to college or had other valid reason for not working full time.

Then petition court for more support

Thank you for the information. I do appreciate it. Unfortunately my parents are providing most of the support so I can get through school and I just wanted to do what is fair. Thanks again.
