Default Turning 18 Shortly After Getting a Ticket

as so many people have, I received a speeding ticket on the I-5 North, coming down from the grapevine. I received the ticket four days before my eighteenth birthday. great present right? well, I wasn't the only one speeding, but that's besides the case. I'd like to know if it's possible to get the ticket dismissed, and if I can't, then what are the next steps. I live 2 hours from the court and with school, going to court is a major inconvenience. because I was a minor when the officer pulled me over, it's mandatory that a parent comes with me. however, like I mentioned earlier, I'm no longer a minor. does this make a difference? I hope someone can offer me some advice!

It's a gift to yourself ... well, if your parents are supporting you and payin gyour insurance, I suppose they're the ones who will be paying.

well, I wasn't the only one speeding, but that's besides the case.
    And, not a defense.

I'd like to know if it's possible to get the ticket dismissed, and if I can't, then what are the next steps.
Why would they dismiss the ticket? They don't dismiss tickets just because you turn 18.

I live 2 hours from the court and with school, going to court is a major inconvenience.
Then plead guilty or no contest, request traffic school, and pay the fines. Or, request a trial by written declaration, hope the officer never responds (unlikely) and you prevail by default. If you lose, you might still be able to pay for the ticket and ask for traffic school.

because I was a minor when the officer pulled me over, it's mandatory that a parent comes with me. however, like I mentioned earlier, I'm no longer a minor. does this make a difference? I hope someone can offer me some advice!
If the matter is to be heard in juvenile court, yes, a parent will still have to come with you unless you obtain something in writing from them informing you otherwise.
