Step Grandchild Dumped at My House

My question involves a child custody case from the State of: alabama ...my son in law and daughter moved into my house a year ago for us to support them while saving money to buy a house. .in the meantime a month ago he moves out now they are split up..he has an apartment and good income..refuses to come get his daughter ...no relation to me who is six years old...emotionally damaged defiant and destructive....I have two grandsons that I love dearly also living here. ..my daughter is evasive about his whereabouts...when he's coming to collect hs child...and is in general frought with a sense of entitlement....I want him to come collect his daughter that is driving me crazy....maybe I'm a horrible person...but I have no responsibility to this child...my house is bursting at the seams and being destroyed by kids...is this abandonment....the child's aunt took her for a couple of weeks and couldn't handle her ...she's been back at my house for two weeks...help

You will have to evict your daughter and her children. And if you don't want the other child in your home call CPS. Tell them exactly what you posted here and they will take the child off your hands.

Very sad... I feel sorry for this child.

Where is the child's mother?

The child's mother is thirty minutes away..but different state...mississippi. ...she's 22 with 4 or 5 kids and has had custodial rights taken away on all kids....drug addict thief you name it....I do feel sorry for the child...however I'm 42 my youngest is 17 ...I'm not interested in evicting the daughter and two boys...just am not willing to deal with a child that's problematic considering she has a father that pursued custody of her has a good job making 60k a year or more has a home for her...but simply doesn't want to be inconvenienced by daycare school etc or just dealing with her in general....apparently he feels that he's entitled to dump her off at my house and leave her

I feel sorry for her but I guess not enough....my daughter resents her treats her like a stepchild literally and I'm soooo tired of the conflict

then call CPS and inform them of the situation. They will take the child and either convince the father to care for his child or they will place the child in foster care and possibly initiate legal actions against the father for abandonment of his child.

As you permitted them to move into your home with the children, it's not a matter of the child being "dumped." Why does your daughter want to maintain custody of the child?

Why did you agree to take her back? Or was it your daughter acting without your knowledge?

My daughter just showed up with her...said the aunt couldn't handle her. ...it was after showing my daughter these comments that she finally realized that maybe she was wrong for making this child our dependant and took her to her father who was forced to find daycare and confront his responsibility
