My question involves juvenile law in the State of: Indiana
I'm 16 years old and I was wondering if under my circumstances if I could be. My parents and I don't get along. And I know that isn't going to work. I work and make minimum wage I've been and still am saving up to try and get more money. My father is unemployed and my mom does hair for a living. She doesn't make very much money. My dad is an alcoholic yet he still wont admit to it. He yell and screams and MENTALLY abuses everyone in the family. There have been numerous times that he has demanded my mother to give him money and when she refuses he takes it. Not only does he take my mothers money, he has stolen mine as well. Money that I've earned. My parents don't have enough money to pay for hot water at my house. My mom puts up with it. I'm not going to put up with it. My money should be my money since I'm the only one of their children with a job and a drivers license. I have a 4.6 grade average and I'm tied for top in my class. So my grades are fine. As far as living goes I have already talked to my grandmother about helping pay rent and buying my own groceries. I'd also go places she needs me to. I'd also like to include that my dad can't even get unenployment for some reason unknown to me. I feel as if I could live better on my own at least away from my parents until I could get my own place.
