    Default Probation Limits

Hi awhile ago i was caught for retail frued and i have already gone through all the court issues and fines and i ended up with 1000 in fines, 9 months probation where i just have to write in and drop of a letter stating that ive stayed out of trouble, oh and i also got 20 hrs community service.

My question is the other day i got a letter in the mail from my probation officer that said i have to come in in about a week for a oversight, i wanted to call and see what it was casue she said all i had to do was wright in every month. I couoldnt call though because it had a piece of paper attached to it stating to not call my probaiton officer. Now its not a big deal but my biggest question is that the crime i committed had nothing to do with drugs and i am wondering if legally they can test me without informing me or if they can test me at all if my crime is NON drug related. Ive heard yes and no from different people and i want to know whats the truth can probation officers drug test me for a crime i did that had absolutly nothing to do with any drugs. The letter they sent said nothing about a test and im wondering what a oversight means isn probation tersm pleasae help me out with this asap. Thanks

Have you checked the actual terms of your probation? Often they're provided in writing during your first post-sentencing meeting with your probation officer.

ya i recieved nothing with any infromation or hinting that i would be drug tested at all, all she said was i had 20 hrs community service, would have to drop off a letter the first of every month, and i already paid my fines. There was nothing exchanged in words or in writing that stated i had to get drug tested.
