Default How to File an Appeal After a Criminal Conviction

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Nevada

How do you file for an appeal in Nevada? What do we need to file and who do we give it to? Our lawyer will be quitting after the sentencing and will not help us appeal. We just need to know what to do what to file? Any advice would help. This is for a criminal procedure. Also, how do we get a public defender and what do we need to file to have the court help with legal costs? Like I said any legal advice or forms would be so helpful. Also, if you have any suggestions to whom would be a good public defender in Lyon County?

    Thanks.

The court should advise you of your appeal rights. The appeal process varies by court (municipal vs. justice vs. district....) The rules for most appeals are set forth in the Rules of Appellate Procedure.
