    Question Choosing where to live

When I turn 16, dont I have the choice of what parent I get to live with?
My father had a restraining on him wayy in the past, but it's gone now, and he is a changed man and I am positive of that. My mother and her boyfriend treat all of us kids terribly and when I finially find happiness with my girlfriend, they decide they are going to move so I will hardly see her again. My mom has lied to the courts about a lot things that my dad hasnt done and he has been proved not guilty each time but for some reason my mom still says no to doing anything with my father. So please let me know if there is a way I can live with him..I live in Wisconsin

A court will consider your preference but is not bound by it. You get to choose where you live when you turn 18.

If your parents wish to litigate the issue, the court will entertain their evidence as to what is in your best interest. If your preference is presented to the court, the court will consider your wishes when determining what is in your best interest.
