Default Parole Agent Threatening to Issue a Warrant for Absconding Because I Have No Car

My question involves criminal law for the state of: PA

    Greetings,

I was convicted of a drug possession charge in 2010, served 2 years, was released a year early on good behavior, spent a year at a community corrections center, successfully completed the early release program, and have since transferred back to my parents house in an effort to get my life back on track.

I am not using drugs, I am not committing crimes, I rarely even leave my parents home.

    My question is this,

My agent came to see me last week and I was not home. It was my gf's day off work and we went swimming.

Apparently, this made my agent extremely angry that I was not there to see him (he did not call before coming).

As a result of this, he was very abrasive with me when we spoke on the phone, going so far as the threatening to send me back to prison for not being available to him.

My green sheet indicates I am to be on very light parole and I have very few impositions from the board to follow.

I cut my hair for a job interview last week and mentioned it to my agent. He said that I have to come see him IMMEDIATELY in order to have a new photo taken.

Since I live in a rural area and do not own a car and my agent will not let me drive (I have a valid license), it is very difficult to travel the 60 odd miles to the parole depot.

Can he seriously send me back to prison because I cannot get a ride out there?!?! How is this even possible! I am doing everything I am supposed to be doing and yet this guy constantly is threatening to send me back to prison. I shouldn't have ever even gone to prison in the first place for my "crime" of ordering pain pills off the internet. There were child rapists in there that had less severe sentences than I had!

I know I should be grateful to even be out but this is ridiculous. How can anyone get their life in order with this constant sword of Damocles hanging over their heads???!?

Get a ride and get there. You can have a life when your parole is over.

I appreciate your input. However, I would like to point out that this does nothing with apropos of satisfying my quandary.

I am seeking legal advice, not looking for some Republican's oral diarrhea.

I just happened to notice your quote from Plutarch... Being a lover of classical wisdom, I would like to cite my favorite quote of the preeminent Middle Platonist:

Silence at the proper season is wisdom, and better than any speech.

Take your own advice. As far as I am concerned, you can now pay for your advice

I suggest you utilize the same transportation that was so readily available when you wanted to go to the lake. Otherwise, ride a bicycle. Do you really want your parole revoked due to unavailability?

It does seem easier to get a ride and put up with his bs than to risk going back to jail. Just say 'sorry' even though his request is impossible, try not to stick out. Let someone else piss him off and attract his attention. Because, even if he can't send you back to jail for this, if this guy takes a personal interest in sending you back to jail, eventually maybe he does find something. So just try to keep under the radar. Let him threaten you, just shrug it off.

How and why would a PO forbid you from driving if you have valid license? What's the deal with that?

    I'm curious about that too.

My particular agent is a complete lunatic. I am fairly certain he is suffering from bipolar disorder.

He tells me one thing one day, then a few days later tells me something diametrically opposed to the original statement.

For instance, he tells me I am not allowed to work a second-shift job when I told him I was offered one. Two weeks go by, I cannot find work and he tells me I should start applying for second and third-shift jobs. I attempt to cite his original stance and he tells me that I am a "liar" and I am "putting words in his mouth" and "(he) I can send you back to prison for giving false statements to a law enforcement officer".

At this point, I am absolutely threadbare regarding his actions. It is almost as if his sole purpose in being a parole agent is to make up for years of being ridiculed for being morbidly obese.

A woman my mother knows also has him as a parole agent for her second DUI and he says she failed for cocaine last week. This woman is in her 60s and has never even seen cocaine I am sure. She went to a lab and had her blood tested the day he said she failed, they cleared her and he is now saying that the lab results do not matter because the court goes by his tests.

As far as I know, a person on parole is supposed to witness the urine test being removed from the sealed packaging and is the only person allowed to handle the sample cup until the sample has been given.

With him, the cup is always already out of the bag. For all I know, he tampers with the screen tests.

Is there any regulatory body that has oversight over a parole agent?

What do you imagine yourself complaining about? The parole officer's requirement that you update your photograph?
