Question Can I be fired for not signing a no-compete?

Pennsylvania.....I have been working for a company for the past 10 months, at will, I am now being told if I do not sign a No-Compete Agreement I will be terminated. The no compete I feel is very broad due to the fact there are 10 Locations ( facilities) the west to east distance from the first to the last being 120 miles. The no compete states I cannot invest in,become associated with, accept employment with, accept compensation from, or serve as a consultant to any person, firm or Corporation-other than a hospital-providing diagnostic*****testing within 7 miles of ANY of their locations for a period of 1 year after employment is terminated ( does not specify resignation by me or termination by them) I only work at the farthest west Facility. I have been offered NOTHING in return for signing the agreement Please Advise, It also does not say I can't work for someone else while I am working for them.

Yes, you can be fired for not signing a non-compete.

However, the non-compete may or may not be enforceable. Only an attorney in PA can tell you that.
