Harassment Via Text Message

My question involves criminal law for the state of: Georgia
I am currently being harassed and threatened via text message by a man. All I know is his cell phone number, his first name, and the city he lives in (which is in the state of Alabama). He has threatened my well being and I was wondering if there is anything I can do short of changing my cell phone number since I do not know his last name.

You don't know his name or his cell number. They can be spoofed. Ignore them. There is no reason he should ever be able to find you, unless there is more going on you are not telling us about.

Since he has made threats, I would go to your State Police Department to file a complaint. Of course, save the messages so the police have proof of this threat.

Check with your cell phone provider as well, you may be able to simply have his number blocked.
