So you want to double dip. He is getting benefits designed to cover his expenses and you want to know if you can screw him out of more. I suggest you spend some of the money you have been receiving and obtain a residence sufficient to meet the needs of your family, instead of trying to make your children pay for what apparently is an unemployed or underemployed mother, living off her kids. You are a peach. I can see why the 18 year old has issues. It appears he is trying to earn his way in life and mom is trying to leach it all. Thankfully, he can ultimately move out and get away from you.
Waaaay out of line bub. The son is getting the benefits and has a job so there is no reason he shouldn't pay rent if they agree on it. I don't see where mom is receiving anything. What makes you think mom is under or unemployed? What do you know of the circumstances that justifies an attack like that?

Unless junior is still enrolled in high school (full-time) or disabled, his survivor benefits end at age 18.

I foresee an estrangement here that may last far longer than this so-called rent agreement.

You can ask him/her to help out whenever possible but I would not charge rent to my own kid .. unless he's 35 yrs old ... then rent of $15,000/day.
