Underage Drinking and Public Intoxication in New Jersey

My question involves criminal law for the state of: New Jersey

I am 17 years old and this was my first time drinking, and was so intoxicated that I fell in front of a cop car. Eventually I was taken down to the station where my parents had to pick me up. I am a straight A student and I understand that I've made a horrible mistake. I have gotten a notice saying that I have to go to court due to being charged with public intoxication and underage drinking.

I have not gone to court yet, but I wanted to know if this will be on my permanent record? Also, what am I to expect during my court appearance (will I be asked questions, etc). Is there anything else I should know?

I am very nervous and have definitely learned a lesson from this experience. Thank you very much for the help in advance.
