    Now we're getting into the difference between being charged, and being found guilty, which is not the question that was asked.

    Although the defense you raised sounds suspiciously like the shoplifter's, "Oh, I forgot that I put that in my purse/carry bag for convenience! See, I have money to pay for it so I couldn't possibly have been stealing it".

    I hear you. It's 50/50 if the officer will spend the time to get the information from the bank or subject. Charges will be easy to obtain and even easier to defend.
