My question involves a marriage in the state of:Florida
My husband filed for divorce after he found out that I am permanently disabled. I am told that it is federal law that my husband does not have to provide health insurance for me after we divorce. First is that true and second are there any exceptions since he is divorcing me specifically because I became disabled. I cannot get covered by any insurance since I am permanently disabled. And if I go on state benefits not only do they not cover half of the medications I am on plus the quality of my physicians would severely decline. What are my options?
