My question involves police investagation in the State of: New York
About 7 months ago i was let go from my employer for not following company policy, theft, and knowing that another person was breaking policy. I foolishy admitted to taking less than 30 dollars worth of consumables and agreed to pay it back ( which i did). I understand this amount isnt huge and im sure I would have been arrested than and there if my company wanted to pursue matters.
My question, when I was being interrogated by loss prevention they questioned me for two hours about everything and everything ( even about things that made no sense). They stated they had been looking into the store for months and wanted to talk to me to wrap up their investagatio/case. They made me feel is if they had this huge case against me. Let me be very clear that I have never embezzled money, the worst i think they could have would be seeing me drink something without a receipt on it. What is the probably that they handed the case over to the police and the police have been investagating for 7+months? Im already a paranoid person who suffers from chronic anxiety, the things they said and did certianly did not help my cause.
Im I just being paranoid thinking the police are spending countless hours building a case. The laywer I spoke to seems sure their isnt any need to worry.
