how would you sue them if you don't know where they are? Do you even know who it is (as in their real identity?)
How does anyone else sue anyone for online impersonation? I've read several articles on it. It does happen. There have been several cases of people being sued and even arrested for certain online issues. How do they find those people? The person filing doesn't- I assume the authorities do.
Here's a source- http://www.gladstonemichel.com/onlin...sonation.shtml You don't think the people they were impersonating found them by themselves do you? Typically when you're pretending to be someone you're not, you aren't telling people where you live or your address..... And of course they aren't giving out their real identity. Why would they do that? That would defeat the purpose of impersonating someone, don't you think?

how does who find the peopl?. What you describe is not likely to be considered a criminal issue so the authorities are not going to do anything. It is a civil matter so it is up to you to find the perpetrator.

even if it is a criminal issue, it isn't going to be high on the list of crimes needing to be solved since it affects only you and even then, does not cause you any danger. They are not going to expend huge sums of money to find this person.

It doesn't put me in danger, no, but it is illegal. This is MY work they are profiting off of. And there is no huge sum of money needed to find the person- it's pretty simple. They use a website to sell the shows & videos. Obviously that site has their IP and payment information, including name & address. If you look into their privacy statement, it says "We will not share your any of your personal information with any third party, other than authorities and the police in the event of any investigation." That is how others go on with cases like these. You don't have to be in danger to file something like this. The issue here is, money. They are making money off of my work- simple. I'm just wondering how I'm supposed to go about the situation.. who do I talk to? what are the laws in the location I've provided you with? I thought this site was going to be more helpful and educated on the topic.

You can do a John Doe Civil Suit at a local level and compel the turn over of documentation in order to get the identity, as part of your John Doe suit you would get a subpoena for the identity of the violator from Adultworx. Also you might just name Adultworx in the lawsuit because they are collecting the money from the customer and profiting off of the fraud. If you want a quick "score" for the damages and to give the company a bit of a slap on the wrist, you could file a small claims court filing against them in your locality (adhering to the small claims court maximum dollar amount in damages). They will need to show up and defend themselves - in your localities court house - or get a summary judgement against them. I have dealt with large public companies in this way and often get an appropriate settlement just by threatening to file with the small claims court.

    Good luck.

There is more to it than finding the people. It costs money to prosecute anybody and you even mentioned something about England. If the people are in England, then you are talking about having to extradite them, if possible, and then prosecute them. You are talking of many many thousands of dollars. I suspect you will not find any assistance from any police authority or prosecutor.
