Thanks. As I noted in my original post, I understand what the rule is.

What I'm looking for is more practical advice on smoothing over the actual crossing from people who have done it, especially at places like Sweet Grass that don't see a lot of tourist traffic.

Do they normally handle it out in the drive-through or should we expect to stop and go in inside? Will my friend have to go through US-VISIT fingerprint process again? Any particular documentation that they usually ask for? That kind of thing.

Just looking for advice on getting through easy from people who have done it so we don't have to sit there for hours. I suspect that this is not a common situation at a commerce crossing like Sweet Grass - he's likely to be the first Estonia they've ever seen - and I just want to make sure we're ready for whatever they might throw at us.

Sorry if that wasn't entirely clear in my original post. Thanks for your response, though. If anybody out there has actually gone through this and would like to share their experience I would be most grateful.
