ok I now have a bigger problem... I recently found out that I could possibly be pregnant. I don't know for sure yet but if I am would I be able to get emancipated easier? And is there any way that my mom could keep James away from me if I am pregnant? If I am not emancipated by the time my mom finds out that I might be my mom will flip out and probably do every thing in her power to keep him away from me.... I am really lost right now and I don't know what to do....![]()
As you have been told, in Florida you need parental consent to emancipate - your parents must initiate the emancipation process. Pregnancy is not parental consent. Pregnancy typically works agaisnt emancipation because it makes it much harder for you to support yourself and to manage your own personal, social and financial affairs.
You're still legally a child, so your mother can keep you away from your boyfriend.
Can not also be charged with rape?
A point no one has yet brought up is that this kid is only 15. NO state permits the emancipation of a 15 year old under ANY circumstances except California, and CA only allows it very rarely (mostly in the case of child actors).
