My question involves criminal law for the state of: Mississippi
My son--in-law was stopped on a seatbelt violation. While checking his license, a four-year old warrant for disorderly conduct was found. He appeared before a local city judge and the case was dismissed, but he has no paperwork on this. He renewed his delinquent driver's license about a year ago and requested that they search to see if all was clear on his record. His license was granted due to a clear record.
What is the statue of limitations on a disorderly conduct charge? How can the record of proceedings before the judge be found? Is there any recourse in this matter - he is currently in jail awaiting appearance before a judge tomorrow morning.
Thank you
