Default Significant Change in Income Since Spousal Support Was Set

My question involves a marriage in the state of: Pa. Try to keep it short. Seperated 10 months. Wife went on short term disability , after that ran out, she filed for support. Has a letter from Dr stating can't hold job , O income. I had a lawyer with me too, hearing found that I NET $3500 ( with overtime AND a one time performance bonus) in reality , I only NET $2262 per month. This is my problem. Pa is SUPPOSED to see to it that BOTH parties are able to live on the decision. I can't. Now I have no where to turn and no way to afford a lawyer. My lawyer that WAS there stated " I'm not the only one who thinks I didn't receive a fair outcome, and for another $500 he would represent me at a new hearing. I am so lost and confused. Please advise.

Your lawyer has explained your remedies, and $500 isn't much to represent you in a contested legal matter. Certain remedies, such as motions for reconsideration or appeals, have deadlines that can come up quickly. If you believe you can figure out what relief is available to you given the facts and procedural history and status of the case, file, serve and schedule any necessary motion, and represent yourself effectively at a hearing on your motion, you can try. But your post, and the tiny amount of case history that you've shared, don't make me optimistic about your chance of getting relief if you represent yourself.

Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure how much more facts of the case I need to reveal, according to the rules of the forum, I shouldn't post much. Yes there is a deadline to contest the original decision. And I do intend on contesting it based on the fact that my net monthly income is significantly less now. I also realize that maybe $500 doesn't sound like a lot of money to some, but only being left with around $800 per month to live on its almost impossible.
Again, I realy do appreciate all replies and advice. Thank you.
