My question involves a driver's license issued by the State of: Florida

Ok, so here's the deal. I have an active revocation from the state of Florida on my license. The cause of the revocation is for too many points on my license. I forgot the exact way they worded it, but it was too many points within 24 months or something.

I was initially suspended for failure to pay traffic tickets. I moved to NY and actually managed to pay off almost $2,000 in tickets and for approximately 1 month Florida actually reinstated my license and I was driving again in New York. To make a long story short, something happened in my life which ultimately led me to make the stupid decision to drink and drive and I just so happened to get pulled over and fined. This was my first and only DWI offense, so the state of New York was pretty lenient on me, also considering I wasn't even in my vehicle when I was stopped. But, nonetheless, it was still reported to Florida and points for the DWI were put on my license. It was THIS event which led to the over-accumulation of points and my ultimate revocation.

According to the Florida DMV website, my main cause for revocation is HTO, and they have me listed as a habitual traffic offender which, from what I read, is a mandatory 5 year revocation.

The revocation went into effect about 1 1/2 years ago, so I have a ways to go. My question is... is there ANY hope of me getting my license back, or even a hardship license? And, even if I go the entire 5 years and just stay revoked, is there any reason why I wouldn't get my license back AFTER that time?
