    Default Security tag

I purchased a coat from Lord and Taylor in a different state (when I was on vacation)... it was a really think coat and the sales person did not take of the security tag (I did not notice this until I got home).. unfortunately I cannot find my receipt either. Double Whammy. What should I do to get this removed and so no one thinks I stole the damn coat!? Help. I want to sound like I know what I'm talking about before I go and try to fix this. Oh, and the store I bought it at (L&T), there isn't one within like 200 miles of where I actually live.

Call the store where you purchased the coat and ask them to mail you a copy of the receipt.

    Now, tell us the truth.

What is a think coat? Would that be a thick mink coat?

They would be able to get a copy of it? From my credit card info maybe?

THICK coat... sorry. I meant to imply it was hard to see the security tag and it could have been easily missed by the sales person.

If you really did purchase the coat, the store or its headquarters will have a copy of the cash register purchase receipt. They can make a copy and send it to you.

But, I don't think you purchased the coat. I think you stole it. If you stole it, I wouldn't be writing to the store or the company if I were you.

How did you manage to make an exit with the security tag in place? Did you pay cash or charge the coat?

It must have been a bad security tag because I don't remember setting off anything. But you know how it is... often times those things just go off and no one thinks twice and everyone goes on as they were.....

If you set off the security alert, you would remember. The security tag would have been removed after you showed your receipt. Are these tags designed to prevent removal? If the alarm wasn't activated when you exited, why would it be activated in reverse?

Not everyone "jumps" everytime those security alarms sound. A lot of times I have seen employees totally ignore them. But regardless, it could and probably would sound in reverse.

I am hopping the store will just let me ship it back to them and they will remove it for me.
