Default Should I plead guilty or contest the charges

A week ago, I was travelling at 40 mph in 45 mph zone in Olathe, KS and a Honda Accord in front of me came to a sudden stop as there was a traffic light hal a mile away (there were cars in front of that car). I slammed on my brakes but as it had rained the previous day that car skidded almost 20-25 feet and rear ended the car in front. The police came and took the length of the skid marks and pictures.

The ambulance came and took the lady in the Honda Accord and there were damages to the Accord's rear bender. I spoke to the claims investigator and she told me that the lady in the other car was doing fine.

My insurance expired on September 3rd and though i renewed it, i did not have the latest copy of the insurance with me as thee was a problem with my postal mail as i had changed address very recently. The cop wrote me a ticket for having no Insurance and secondly he put a second charge saying the "speed too fast for road conditions". He gave me a court date which is in two weeks from now. I am not sure what he means by that and what the fine is going to be.

Can i plead not guilty for the speeding charges and go to trial or should i just pay the fine and move on. I asked the insurance company to mail me the latest copy of the insurance and they have already put it in th mail. i will take it with me to the court on the date of the appearence and can i get that fine waived. This is my first ticket in my driving history. How can i take this off my record??? Once again is therea way for diversion or should i just pay the fine???

If your insurance was in effect when the accident took place, I feel certain that portion of your problem will be dismissed. Rear ending another vehicle is extremely difficult to defend.

Is this the same incident you asked about in this thread 11 days ago? Or do you regularly rear-end people in Olathe? If it is the same incident, why are you starting a new thread? If you didn't like the answers or didn't understand them, you should have posted your questions in that thread.
