My question involves bankruptcy in the state of: Nevada.
When I filed Chap. 13 10/2011, my annual salary was 65k. When I filed 2012 taxes, my actual income for the year was appx 43k. I didn't give the tax return to the trustee because I figured since even w/the 2k tax refund, my allowable salary was much less than my 2011 filing salary of 65k.
I sent my W2 and proof that I filed taxes to the trustee; and just got a notice that my case will be dismissed if I don't turn over the 2k tax refund. The letter stated a notice went to my attorney but he hasn't contacted me and has not responded to my calls. I visited the trustee to try to talk to him myself but I was told to contact my attorney. At this point, it's safe to assume that I have no attorney.
What are my options when the case is dismissed? Can I just find a new lawyer and file a whole new Chapter 13 or get it reinstated w/another lawyer? If so, how can I find out if the lawyer is experienced and reputable? I'm so stressed at the thought of the case being dismissed. Any help/advice is very much appreciated.
