    Pandie,

head down, ears perked, mouth on non-functional

just wait and see if anything happens.

If by chance anything does happen:

ears perked, mouth on non-functional until you have a lawyer.

There are a million stories of people, even innocent people, talking themselves into a conviction. Not many with people, innocent or not, talking themselves out of a conviction.

It does no good to get upset. All you can do is wait and see if anything comes of it. While you are doing that, continue on with life.

Set this on the back burner of your mind. Don't forget or ignore it but don't let it consume you either.

Each day that passes without contact is a good sign nothing is going to come of it.

Pandy, from an HR perspective it doesn't sound as if there's anywhere NEAR enough evidence to link you to this officially. They can suspect till the cows come home, but if it were me, I wouldn't do more than call you into my office to ask you about it. (I'd HAVE to do at least that much - I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't at least investigate.)

And no, if you had been fired, you would not have had a lawsuit. I know you know this; tell Mom to google at-will employment.

Thanks. I knew there was no lawsuit, but mommy had to ask....

No HR office to be called into, the company is based in another state. Everything is done via email or phone. That phone call I was was like "What????????".

I did resign yesterday. Let them know I want a FedEx or UPS sticker to return their promo kit, and had also cut up the credit card, which is in an envelope inside the box now.

    Independent Contractor.

Pay is dependent on investigation results by the employer.

this is a nightmare. I worked my shifts. I have my paperwork and the receipts, so it's proven I was at the 5 stores.
