My question involves unemployment benefits for the state of: Georgia
For the past year I have been working for a mortgage company that had a marketing agreement in place with a local realtor whereby the company rented space for me in the real estate office. Due to a conflict involving another one of the realtors office locations (not my office) my company canceled the marketing agreement today. They called me in and essentially told me I could either continue working for them out of the corporate office or I could quit. They have given me until Monday to decide. The corporate office is 35 miles from my home. The real estate office I was stationed at was less than 5 miles away and its proximity is why I took this job.
Can I refuse and still be able to collect unemployment while I look for something closer to my home? I am not concerned so much about the actual costs of commuting 70 miles a day, but the associated costs of needing my kids watched for an additional 8 hours per week make doing it unwise.
