My question involves criminal law for the state of: New Mexico

Family member on probation. I like to drink beer in my bedroom and usually keep my bedroom locked all the time. I don't go out drinking at bars or driving and drinking, being home in my room is where I spend 90% of the time and I would like to have a beer and watch TV or while on the computer. He doesn't drink anyway and hates beer, all the rest of the wine and spirits are going to a friends house.

Both the bedroom door and closet are fitted with entry locks and deadbolts. Can the police break my doors in to search my room? I would put a mini fridge in my closet so he would never even see it. He would have absolutely have no access to alcohol in the house.

I know the police can search anytime, so how can I prove I have taken extreme precaution to keep it away from him so he doesn't get into trouble. I would rather not be sneaking beer into my own home either.
