My question involves a marriage in the state of: texas
I am currently paying child support which is supposed to end this month but am continuing payments because I still owe arrears and still owe for not paying full amount of child support. I have read that Texas can get 6% intest on this. My ex says she gets 12%. Also I have read that child support payments can be made not later than 30 days after due date. (I used to pay on the 1st and now I'm paying on the 15th.) My ex says payments are due on the 1st no later than the 6th. Can't find anything to support either. Just want the truth and what my options are to get this all resolved. If I have figured everything right i should owe 6000 dollars. Tried to make arrangements to resolve this with my ex (her idea) and then she makes threats and acts like I'm not doing my part. (she's bipolar) would it be in my best interest to get an attorney and make arrangements to pay through disbursement and if so what is the minimum and maximum I would have to pay?
