    Question Changing My Son's Name, Father is Not Listed on the Birth Certificate

    My question involves name change laws in the State of: TEXAS
    I live in Texas and would like to change my sons last name on his birth certificate. My son is 11 months old and he currently has my last name. I would like to hyphenate it with his fathers but not change it all together. His Father is not list on the Birth certificate and I was wondering if i still needed his permission.

    There is no man listed as the father anywhere, either through an AOP or judicial action?
