My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: ILLINOIS
I am a warehouse supervisor. Frequently, people have accidents while operating material handling equipment which requires a post-accident drug test. I have just been informed by HR that it is my responsibility to transport the ee who had the accident to the drug screening clinic using my own personal car. My questions are:
-if there is an accident, what is my personal liability in transporting a person as a part of my job while using my own vehicle?
-can i demand that my employer provide insurance for these trips to the clinic without driving under my own personal insurance?
-can i refuse to transport someone who is apparently under the influence of drugs/alcohol due to safety concerns? should i expect to be disciplined for insubordination in such a case?
