back in july 2011, I was physically hit by a car. My shoulder was dislocated from the accident, I hired a attorney to handle my case, attorney had me going to chiropractor to start my physical therapy they told me they'll handle the bill. about 8-9 months after the accident, I get a call from my attorney stating my case being dropped as I'm at fault by the police report. I'm now stuck with over $2000 bill. I need legal advice, How can i go about this?

Talk to your health insurance and see what they will cover. Negotiate with the Chiro for a discount.

so, were you at fault for the collision?

Have you asked your lawyer if they believe you to be at fault? The insurance company's determination is not binding on the court.

I can't offer much more since you did not care to provide your state as asked.

You are lucky the driver did not sue you for the damage to his vehicle too.

ewe have 50 different states so I am going to presume that since you could not identify even one that you are not actually in the United States. Sorry but this is a us forum.

If the police investigated the accident and concluded that you were at fault, odds are they had some combination of (a) witnesses who verified the driver's account, (b) your wearing dark clothing at night such that you were difficult to see, and/or (c) your being intoxicated, as well as your admission that you ran into the path of the car. Please identify the state, and explain what it was that caused the police to find that the accident was your fault.

State laws vary. The law in Florida and the law in California are not the same; nor is the law in Texas the same as law in Massachusetts.

You can share the specific state you are in and get information that applies in your state, or you can not to share the state you are in and get nothing but generic information that may or may not apply.

    Your choice.

If the lawyer and the insurance company and the police all say you are at fault, I would take that as a really strong suggestion you actually were at fault. Because of that, you probably would not have a winning suit to seek compensation from the driver. As another mentioned, you could actually be held liable for damages to the car if it was actually your fault.

The bills for treatment would be your responsibility. Do you have any insurance?
