My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: California
I really had to take this step because I really don't know what to do. I was terminated from my former employer about a year and a half ago. Lost a great job, I began building my life again. So about a month ago, I was interviewed but this company and my hiring process began. I took a physical, pass drug test etc etc... I am 24 hours away from them terminating my application because my former employer that I was terminated from refuses or is not cooperating on vertifying my employment with them. I am really frustrated because my hands are tied and the company that is trying to hire me is pushing like I have control. I have contacted HR from my previous employer but they keep giving me the round around. What makes this more complex is that in their system they still have me as "Active" , I know that because I spent 20 dollars on their 3rd party company that handles their employment vertification matter. If there anything I could do, is there any legal action or a direction I need to take because it seems that this is going to haunt me while I am looking for a job...
