Default Can I Stop the Police from Prosecuting a Crime I Reported

I was assaulted by a friend and went to the hospital. The hospital brought police and they filed a police report. They have not asked if I wanted to charge him? Will he still be charged if I decline?

Default Re: Can I Drop Charges Already Made Police Reports

The state can bring charges even without your consent. Whether they will or not, only the prosecutor could tell you (after they've looked at evidence, witness statements, etc. and evaluated the strength of a criminal case against the suspect).
