My question involves name change laws in the State of: New York.
My ex (never married) wants to hyphenate our son's name to which I objected. Court denied her petition saying she doesn't have a good enough reason for it. Now she's appealing to the Supreme Court of New York.
I am just wondering what is the procedure for this and how likely it is that she's going to be successful if a judge in a civil court already denied it?
Thanks.
