Caught Stealing Twice in a Single Month

My question involves criminal law for the state of: I have been caught twice in the past month for theft...I didn't learn the first time but i sure do understand now. I need any advice on how to proceed with my crimes. One case has been moved to trial and i am in the process of getting an attorney. The other happened recently and thus far i only have a court date. What are my options and what are my chances of going to jail because i am a student and i can't go to jail for too long.

You might as well save the tuition money. No one is going to hire you after college. You might get diversion for one, if they had not had time to discover the second. You are a habitual offender and will likely be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

My prior record consist of one car accident in may of 2011. My state is Ohio.

The first theft totaled 8, second was 101

1-notice of criminal trespass on private property, paper saying i would never step foot into a kroger again, 2 notice of intent/ civil demand...saying ill pay 165 dollars to meijer in the next 30 days

I didn't officially get a ticket from kroger just paper work saying i would never step foot on kroger property again and i was arrested (finger prints and the whole deal). Meijer the ticket said "ms__ entered meijer and selected $101 worth in misc. merchandise and conccaled on her person she left without attempting to purchase the merchandise!"..."in violation of M-1 section 545.05(A)(1)" then summoned to appear later that month my signature and then the police officer's signature

With two thefts in two counties, you really need to retain a Criminal Defense lawyer.

You can expect both stores will be sending Civil Demands.

You are likely banned from Meijer too. Their LP travels, so don't even think you will go to a different nearby Meijer store. If you are caught in any Kroger or any Meijer - you can be arrested for Criminal Trespass.

in court, you can expect fines. Since you have shoplifted twice now, the judge is going to be harder on you. You may be ordered to attend an Anti-Shoplifting class. You may have community service.

Once you see the court costs and fines and the Civil Demands, and the cost for an attorney - you will realize how expensive shoplifting is.
