My question involves labor and employment law for the state of: Maryland
My mother was recently laid off from her job, she was within 6 months of her retirement, and it just seems like there are laws that protect that type of thing. She did work for a defense contractor and the reason for the lay offs are the Sequestration, I don't know if that plays a part in this, but it just seems like there is something illegal about being let go this close to her retirement.
I am completely ignorant to any of these laws, so any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
