Default What Authority Does a Federal Probation Officer Have Over a Defendant

My question involves criminal law for the state of: united states
Can my federal po stop me from doing realestate deals, relocating my family to another state to care for sick parents

Ive never failed a drug test or had any violations. I pled guilty to bank fraud for bad checks. She says that she has the power to stop me from making income through realestate and that since she has to file the paper work for my transfer it wont get done. Due to the fact that I have been looking at properties (but have not placed or signed any contracts) she has placed me under investigation. What are my options?

Your PO has that ability. Considering the nature of your offense, she has more than enough reason to make that decision.

You are no longer the defendant once convicted, you are the offender.

Unhappy Re: What Authority Does a Federal Probation Officer Have Over a Defendant

I understand that i am the offender. I just dont understand why she is giving me such a hard time after i have complied with every court order of my sentence. She has gone as far as to tell me i could no longer use a phone or go on craigslist to inquire about property before my families relocation. She wants my father to rent a house for my family that seems to me illegal to sign a lease knowing its for someone else. She called me to say that she has as much power as the judge? I know i did wrong and thats y i had no problem pleading out but i was young and stupid. If i am in complete compliance why am i getting so much greif from her?
